Our call for abstracts is now closed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The text of the call for abstracts remains below for information – it is likely to be similar in 2027.<\/p>\n

All women and non-binary students of computing and related subjects1<\/sup> are invited to enter one of the poster contests at the BCSWomen Lovelace Colloquium.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be held on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th April<\/strong><\/span> 2026<\/span><\/b>, in-person, hosted by University of Bath.<\/span> This will be our first ever two-day Lovelace, starting around lunchtime on the Wednesday and finishing after lunch on the Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

To enter the poster contest, you will have to write a <\/span>250 word abstract<\/span><\/b> on the topic of your poster. The abstract deadline is <\/span>February 6th 2026<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your abstract can be on any computing topic you like. We\u2019ve had submissions on everything from social networking to quantum computing; from medical image processing to wearable computing (complete with an Arduino powered skirt). If it involves computers, we\u2019re interested. If you aren\u2019t sure what a 250 word abstract looks like, we have <\/span>some samples of abstracts from previous years<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your abstract should be your own words, and not the output of some Generative AI system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, for the first time, we also have some reflective questions about how and why you chose your topic, and about presenting a poster.<\/p>\n
